THEIR JOURNEY

We should not set standards that are not important.  Why can't children wipe their hands on their shirts?  If there shirt was already dirty would it be ok to wipe ice cream on it?  In that case - sometimes it is ok to wipe ice cream on your shirt and other times it is NOT ok to wipe water on it.  This is hard to understand, especially for a child who's brain doesn't process the presence of a napkin or a towel YET, as they are more concerned with Tom and Jerry.

We should allow children to grow and learn on their own, we can only offer them love and support, as ultimately this is THEIR journey.  Consider yourself - your mother's child, when you were 4.  Now, however, would you listen to your mom if she told you to brush your teeth.
Our job as leaders is to teach them to make the right choices.  Do you know how long that takes?  Think about how long it takes us to learn from our mistakes.  The time will come when we all know to wipe our hands on a towel rather than our shirt, we should allow that time to come instead of battling it.

I read today that in order to be happy you must have balance, confidence, courage, health and vitality.  Can you remember how hard it was to learn to balance on the curb?  Can you imagine how long it takes to truly accomplish balance in your life?

We continue to learn and grow as humans until we die- some lessons take much longer than others.  It is important to support children in learning their lessons, be patient, gently help them if they need it and be careful because believe it or not they are learning from ALL of the lessons that we teach them.

Humility

Man can only be the best for a season. Being humble and practicing humility will teach you just about anything if you are willing to open yourself to learn. Every "one" is different. Learn as much as you can.

Motivation

"What lies beyond us and what lies before us are like tiny matters when compared to what lies within us". -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Two things that motivate people to success: Inspiration and desperation
Two types of motivation: toward what we want or away from what we don't want.
Motivation is a mental strategy. Not a magic pill.

What can I do today?
What opportunities am I going to have today to get closer to my goals, desires, and things that I really want in my life?

Abundance

"Abundance is our natural state as God Presences.  Everything we experience is part of the abundance.  When limitation appears, we are seeing a reflection of our beliefs in limitations. Opening those beliefs provides us with a clearer view of our abundance."

Universal Principles

Morning blend.

Today is the beginning of a new day.
Great things are happening in my life.
I feel happy and grateful for everything i have.
I'm blessed and at peace.
I'm in control of my thoughts.
I'm a giver.
I'm great, smart, and full of power.
It is good to be me.
